Riyadh Air Places Firm Order for 60 Airbus A321neo Family Aircraft
Riyadh Air, the new premium international airline based in Saudi Arabia, has made a significant move in the aviation market by placing a firm order for 60 A321neo Family aircraft.
This landmark agreement was signed at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) held in Riyadh, marking a pivotal moment for the airline as it gears up to enhance its fleet and expand its operational capabilities.
The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Chairman of Riyadh Air, alongside Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, and Benoit de Saint-Exupery, Executive Vice President of Sales for the Commercial Aircraft division.
The A321neo is recognized as the largest member of Airbus’ best-selling A320neo Family, celebrated for its unmatched range and performance.
The aircraft features cutting-edge technology, including new-generation engines and Sharklets, which contribute to a remarkable 50% reduction in noise levels and over 20% savings in fuel and CO₂ emissions compared to earlier single-aisle models.
Additionally, the A321neo is designed to maximize passenger comfort, boasting the widest single-aisle cabin available in the sky.
This order adds to the already impressive tally of more than 6,700 A321neo aircraft ordered by over 90 customers worldwide, reinforcing the aircraft’s popularity and reliability in the global aviation market.
