Gulfstream has announced on March 29, 2024 that the G700, a ultra-long range business
jet, has received certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The G700 has also received 2 new performance improvements – A balanced field length takeoff distance of 1,827 metres and a landing distance of 960 m (standard ISA day, sea level), both shorter than originally anticipated. This is a welcome upgrade for customers, especially since
smaller airports could now accommodate aircraft, therefore increasing its possible routes.

This certification is a huge milestone for Gulfstream, as the FAA certification enables
Gulfstream to start deliveries of their flagship G700 business jet, which have been highly
anticipated within the Business Jet industry. Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream also noted
that the G700 would bring a new level of performance and cabin comfort to business
aviation, while meeting the highest certification the industry has ever seen.

Flagship Specifications
The G700, although new, has already revolutionised the way of travel. This is due to its
revolutionary specifications, notably cabin altitude and aircraft speed. The G700 is able to
have a cabin altitude of 2,840 feet while cruising at 41,000 feet, which is the lowest in
business aviation. A low cabin altitude is usually directly related to the comfort of the
passengers within the aircraft, and is especially important in preventing ‘Jet-lag’, a common
occurrence when passengers travel across multiple time zones.

Furthermore, the G700 is the fastest operating aircraft in Gulfstream’s fleet, operating at a maximum speed of Mach 0.935. This helps to reduce point-to-point travelling time for passengers, and the G700 has already shown its effectiveness in this field, surpassing the 50 city pairs speed record.

Wide Range of Customers
The G700, being Gulfstream’s flagship jet, has a wide range of customers. From launch
customer Qatar Executive, who was also the Launch Customer for the G500, to even
billionaire Elon Musk, more well known as the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and social media
platform, X. Gulfstream expects to deliver 50 G700 Aircraft this year.

Sustainable Aircraft
The Gulfstream G700 has utilised a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend on 83% of flights
launched from the Savannah-based Gulfstream Flight Test Center. Furthermore, five of six
test aircraft have been utilising SAF fuel blend on every flight, further emphasising
Gulfstream’s commitment to a greener future.
