Air Canada flight attendant loses cool over Blanket Request

An Air Canada flight from Casablanca to Montreal was cancelled after a flight attendant lost her composure following a passenger’s request for a blanket. The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, occurred as Flight AC73 was preparing for takeoff on the tarmac.

According to CTV News, the situation began when a passenger requested a blanket due to the excessive air conditioning on the plane. The flight attendant’s reaction quickly escalated, leading to a dramatic outburst captured on video by a fellow passenger.

In the footage, the flight attendant can be seen gesturing and yelling at the passenger in both English and French. “You will behave or we will get off!” the attendant shouts, before adding, “I don’t want no bullying against my crew!”

Despite the request to speak with the captain, the attendant continued to express frustration, saying, “Everyone behave! Be quiet … or you’re getting off.”

The situation worsened when the attendant called the police and demanded that the passenger disembark. The incident led to the cancellation of the flight, and a new crew was assigned to transport the passengers to their destination later that day.

Air Canada responded to the incident by confirming the flight’s cancellation and offering compensation to affected passengers for the delay and the unsettling experience. The airline expressed its regret over the situation, with spokesperson Christophe Hennebell stating, “We are taking this incident very seriously.

It is under review, and we will take appropriate action. We apologize to our customers and deeply regret that their experience today fell far short of what they have come to expect when flying with Air Canada.”
