Air India Set to Add More Southeast Asia Routes

Air India is rapidly expanding its network, making travel more convenient for passengers by introducing seamless routes to key global destinations.
As part of its summer 2025 schedule, the airline is set to launch direct flights to Manila, Philippines, and Jakarta, Indonesia, strengthening connectivity between India and Southeast Asia.
Strategic Expansion to Meet Growing Demand
Air India’s latest expansion aligns with its vision to strengthen its international presence and tap into the rising demand for travel in high-growth markets. Southeast Asia remains a thriving aviation hub, fueled by strong economic ties, tourism, and business exchanges between India and ASEAN nations.
Currently, direct flights between India and Indonesia are limited, with only a few airlines operating non-stop routes. Similarly, there are no direct flights between India and the Philippines. Air India’s entry into these markets will bridge this gap, providing travelers with direct, time-saving, and comfortable travel options.
Operational Excellence with Boeing 787 Dreamliners
The new flights to Manila and Jakarta will be operated using Boeing 787 Dreamliners, known for their fuel efficiency, passenger comfort, and superior cargo capacity. These state-of-the-art aircraft are ideal for medium-haul international routes, ensuring a premium travel experience.
With upgraded in-flight services and advanced aircraft, Air India is solidifying its position as a strong competitor among global airlines, offering passengers a seamless and luxurious journey.
Strengthening Global Connectivity Through Partnerships
Air India is also enhancing its global reach through strategic partnerships. The airline has expanded its codeshare agreements with Lufthansa and SWISS, now covering nearly 100 routes connecting 12 Indian cities to 26 European destinations. Additionally, Austrian Airlines will introduce 26 new codeshare routes, further boosting connectivity between India and Europe.
As part of its long-term strategy, Air India is working to establish India as a global transit hub. The airline has revamped its international flight schedules to ensure faster and more efficient connections for passengers traveling between the UK, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
