Boeing and AIESL Join Forces for maintenance training in India

In a significant move towards standardizing processes and enhancing aviation safety in India, Boeing, the renowned aircraft manufacturing company, has teamed up with Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) to elevate aircraft maintenance training.
This partnership aims to address the growing demand for skilled aviation professionals and support the burgeoning aviation industry in the region. Under the agreement, Boeing will provide training materials, aids, and instructor support to ensure consistency and uniformity across AIESL’s training programs.
AIESL, on the other hand, will leverage its infrastructure and instructors while obtaining Civil Aviation Regulation (CAR)147 approval from the Indian regulatory authority to conduct maintenance training for customers.
Boeing’s 2023 Pilot and Technician Outlook indicates that there would be a substantial need for pilots and maintenance technicians in India over the next 20 years, thus the partnership comes at a critical moment. Building a competent workforce is vital to satisfy the demands of the aviation industry, which will require about 33,000 pilots and 34,000 technicians for maintenance by 2042.
Boeing and AIESL have teamed up to provide thorough training programs that satisfy industry standards and give students the skills and information they need to succeed in their professions in order to meet this growing demand.
Through this partnership, AIESL not only gains better training capabilities, but it also helps India’s aviation and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sectors grow in a sustainable and competitive manner. In addition, the partnership between AIESL and Boeing is a component of the BIRDS hub program, which aims at developing excellent MRO capabilities and skilled personnel in India.
