British Airways Adds Three New Italian Routes to Its Network

British Airways is set to enhance its Italian network in the summer of 2025, launching three exciting new routes.
These additions will bring the total number of Italian destinations served by the airline to 19, reinforcing its position as the carrier with the most extensive Italian network in Europe. The new routes include flights to Rimini, Salerno, and Olbia, offering travelers even more options to explore Italy’s rich culture, history, and natural beauty.
Starting in May 2025, British Airways will introduce new services to Rimini (RMI), located on Italy’s Adriatic Coast, and Salerno (QSR) on the Amalfi Coast. The airline will also expand its Sardinian offerings with a new service to Olbia (OLB).
These new routes are set to operate from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and London City airports, providing more choice and flexibility for travelers heading to Italy.
Flights to Rimini will begin on 15 May 2025 from London Heathrow, operating three times a week—on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Known for its stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters, Rimini is a popular seaside resort in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region.
The new route will give British Airways customers an easy way to access this Adriatic gem. Return flights are available from £131, with services running until 27 September 2025.
From 22 May 2025, British Airways will offer flights to Salerno, a charming city in the Campania region, from London Gatwick. The airline’s Gatwick-based subsidiary, BA Euroflyer, will operate the route three times per week—on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Salerno’s proximity to the Amalfi Coast makes it an ideal destination for those looking to experience Italy’s scenic beauty and coastal lifestyle. Return flights are available from £168, with flights running until 25 October 2025.
British Airways is also expanding its Sardinian offerings with a new route to Olbia. Starting on 25 May 2025, British Airways will operate flights from London City Airport, with the service increasing to twice-weekly flights from 16 July 2025.
Olbia, known for its beautiful beaches and Mediterranean charm, is one of two destinations British Airways serves in Sardinia, alongside Cagliari on the south coast. Return flights to Olbia are available from £116, with flights running until 28 September 2025.
These new Italian routes are now open for booking, offering travelers a fantastic opportunity to plan their summer holidays in advance.
