Chill Out Before Takeoff—Emirates Offers Free Ice Cream at Dubai Airport
As the joyous festival of Eid Al Adha draws near, Emirates is adding a delicious treat to the travel experience at Dubai International Airport.
With passenger numbers rising in the lead-up to the holiday, Emirates is delighted to offer free ice cream and refreshing sorbets to travelers at four specially placed carts throughout the airport’s departure areas, creating a sweeter start to their journeys.
Indulge in Free Ice Cream While Traveling
From June 6 to July 20, passengers traveling through Dubai International Airport on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays between 12 pm and 6 pm can enjoy complimentary scoops of mango, chocolate, or strawberry ice cream, as well as passionfruit or raspberry sorbet.
These eye-catching ice cream carts are conveniently located across the departures terminals, inviting families and solo travelers alike to savor a refreshing treat before boarding their flights.
Plan Ahead for a Smooth Travel Experience
With the Eid travel rush expected to increase airport traffic and passenger volume, Emirates recommends travelers plan ahead to ensure a hassle-free journey:
- Arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure
- Pass through immigration at least 1.5 hours prior to your flight
- Reach your boarding gate 1 hour before departure
Passengers are encouraged to factor in additional time for traffic delays, longer queues at immigration, and moving between concourses to reach gates.
Seamless Check-In Options to Save Time
To avoid queues and reduce airport wait times, Emirates offers several convenient check-in options:
- Download the Emirates App to check in online 48 hours before departure, manage bookings, receive flight updates, and download your digital boarding pass.
- Drop off your luggage the night before your flight—available 24 hours ahead for most destinations and 12 hours for flights to the US, allowing you to arrive at the airport just in time for immigration and boarding.
- Use the Emirates City Check-In & Travel Store at ICD Brookfield Place, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Open daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, it offers self check-in kiosks, staffed desks, and even a robotic agent named Sara for a futuristic check-in experience.
- Take advantage of the Home Check-In service in Dubai and Sharjah, where Emirates agents complete your check-in at your home, hotel, or office, including luggage handling. This complimentary service is available to First Class passengers and Platinum Skywards members and must be booked at least 24 hours before departure.
