Dassault to Build MRO Hub Near Noida Airport, Creating 20,000 Jobs

In a major boost to India’s aerospace and defense ecosystem, French aviation giant Dassault Aviation is set to establish a state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar (DXN).

This strategic move reflects growing global confidence in India’s aviation sector and its rising status as a future MRO hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has confirmed that Dassault has identified land within a 1,365-hectare zone, earmarked under Phase 2 of the Noida airport development.

This area is being shaped into a modern aviation hub, complete with a Centre of Excellence to promote innovation, advanced training, and aerospace industry growth.

Civil and Military MRO Operations to Take Off

What sets this project apart is Dassault’s dual commitment to both civil and military MRO operations. The facility will provide maintenance services for a range of aircraft—from commercial jets to defense platforms, possibly including Rafale fighter jets, which are currently operated by the Indian Air Force.

Dassault to Launch Skill University for Aviation Maintenance

Beyond infrastructure, Dassault plans to invest in aeronautical education and skill development. The company will establish a dedicated skill university offering aviation-centric programs at the high school, intermediate, and graduation levels, along with 2–3 year diploma courses in MRO and aircraft maintenance.

This initiative is aimed at building a strong talent pool to support the MRO operations and future aerospace needs of India.

A Big Push for Jobs and Local Growth

According to YEIDA, the Dassault project is expected to create over 20,000 jobs, providing massive employment opportunities for skilled youth in the region. With India’s MRO industry valued at $1.7 billion in 2021 and projected to reach $7 billion by 2030, the addition of Dassault’s facility could act as a powerful growth accelerator for the sector.
