Emirates adds fourth daily flight to Johannesburg

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is expanding its offerings in Johannesburg with the addition of a fourth daily flight on this highly sought-after route.

This new service follows the recent launch of a second daily A380 flight between Dubai and Johannesburg on September 1, underscoring the significance of South Africa in Emirates’ extensive global network.

Starting March 1, 2025, the fourth daily service will be operated by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER, adding an impressive 708 seats daily at South Africa’s largest international airport. The new flight, EK767, will depart Dubai at 00:10 hours, arriving in Johannesburg at 06:20 hours.

The return flight, EK768, is scheduled to leave Johannesburg at 10:15 hours and arrive back in Dubai at 20:15 hours. This new schedule introduces a morning departure from Johannesburg, enhancing travel options for both leisure and business passengers.

The addition of this flight will further bolster connectivity across Emirates’ vast network of over 140 destinations. It optimizes schedules to popular locations, including Dubai, Thailand, India, and key European cities like the UK, France, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Beyond passenger benefits, the new flight significantly increases cargo capacity between South Africa and the rest of the world. Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s dedicated freight division, will facilitate the transport of 300 tonnes of cargo weekly via the Boeing 777’s cargo hold.

This includes key commodities such as fresh fruits and vegetables, chilled meat, dairy products, seafood, and fresh cut flowers, thereby stimulating the South African economy. The increased cargo capacity opens up new opportunities for local businesses to connect with global customers swiftly and efficiently.
