Indian Government Launches ‘One Route, One Fare’ Scheme
In a move set to revolutionize India’s domestic aviation landscape, the Government of India has launched a groundbreaking initiative — the ‘One Route, One Fare’ scheme.
The program, officially inaugurated by Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, marks a decisive step toward making air travel more predictable, passenger-friendly, and inclusive.
Branded as ‘Fare Se Fursat’, this historic initiative by India’s state-owned regional airline Alliance Air aims to give travelers freedom from fluctuating airfares and bring greater transparency to domestic ticket pricing.
Launch of ‘Fare Se Fursat’ by Alliance Air
The launch ceremony was graced by key dignitaries including Secretary, Civil Aviation, Shri Samir Kumar Sinha, Chairman, Alliance Air, Shri Amit Kumar, and CEO, Shri Rajarshi Sen.
Under the new ‘Fare Se Fursat’ (One Route, One Fare) scheme, Alliance Air will offer passengers a single, fixed fare that remains constant irrespective of the booking date — even on the day of departure. This eliminates last-minute price surges and offers complete peace of mind to travelers.
The initiative will be implemented on a pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, 2025, across select routes. The trial period will help assess operational feasibility, passenger response, and the model’s potential for expansion across India’s domestic network.
Bringing Stability to India’s Dynamic Fare System
India’s aviation market currently operates on a dynamic pricing model, where fares fluctuate in real-time depending on demand, season, and competition. While effective for airlines’ revenue management, it often leads to frustration among passengers — especially during peak travel periods.
The ‘One Route, One Fare’ initiative directly addresses this issue by ensuring price transparency and stability, allowing travelers to plan ahead with confidence and eliminating last-minute fare surprises.
Empowering First-Time Flyers and Regional Growth
Beyond pricing reform, the scheme is expected to encourage first-time flyers from smaller towns to consider air travel as a viable option. By offering predictable and affordable fares, Alliance Air aims to strengthen connectivity and support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making air travel available, accessible, and affordable for every Indian.
As India continues to expand its regional aviation network, programs like ‘Fare Se Fursat’ reaffirm the country’s commitment to inclusive growth and equitable mobility.
A Step Toward ‘Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik’
Alliance Air, the government’s regional carrier, remains central to fulfilling the ‘Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik’ mission — ensuring that even the most remote corners of the nation are connected through affordable air routes. With ‘One Route, One Fare,’ the airline continues to uphold its role as a bridge between small towns and major cities, transforming air travel from a luxury to a routine convenience.
