Japan Airlines Makes Tokyo Travel Easier with Hotel Luggage Delivery

Japan Airlines (JAL) has introduced a convenient new service that delivers luggage directly to hotels for travelers visiting Tokyo.

Announced on December 5, the same-day delivery service is available for foreign visitors arriving at Terminal 3 of Haneda Airport. For just 4,500 yen ($29 USD) per suitcase, this offering aims to make traveling through the bustling city more enjoyable and stress-free.

The “Baggage-Free” service is designed to tackle pressing issues like congestion on Tokyo’s public transportation system and the shortage of storage lockers, while also simplifying travel for tourists.

JAL stated that the initiative is a step towards easing social challenges and enhancing the overall experience for visitors.

Available to both foreign travelers and Japanese residents, the service covers 14 major districts in Tokyo, including popular areas like Shinjuku. With the weak yen attracting millions of visitors, the service promises to be a game-changer for those navigating the busy capital.

Travelers interested in the service must book it in advance. JAL’s website outlines a straightforward process:

  1. Make a reservation and payment by scanning the 2D barcode displayed on posters near the “JAL ABC counter” in the arrival lobby.
  2. After booking, use the issuing machine next to the poster to print a baggage sticker.
  3. Attach the sticker to your suitcase and drop it off at the “JAL ABC counter” in the arrival area.
