Southwest Airlines adds six new routes for 2025 

Southwest Airlines Reintroduces Limited-Time Companion Pass Offer

Southwest Airlines, Nashville’s largest carrier, is set to expand its international offerings with the introduction of new weekly services starting March 8, 2025.

As part of this expansion, Southwest will offer Saturday flights between Nashville and two popular international destinations: Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos, Mexico, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. These new routes will complement the airline’s existing service between Nashville and Cancun, providing travelers with even more options for their international travel needs.

In addition to these exciting new routes from Nashville, Southwest announced that it will begin Saturday service between Sacramento and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, starting on March 8, 2025.

This expansion coincides with the airline’s recent extension of its flight schedule, allowing customers to book travel through April 7, 2025. Along with the new international services, the extended schedule includes additional seasonal flights, redeye options, and new domestic routes to popular destinations.

Southwest will launch several new nonstop domestic services beginning March 6, 2025, including:

  • Austin to Milwaukee (Weekdays)
  • Austin to Reno, Nevada (Less than daily)
  • Nashville to Indianapolis (Daily)
  • Sacramento, California to Tucson, Arizona (Weekends)

Southwest Airlines, the official airline of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), is also increasing its service to support fans traveling to fall college and professional football games. New flights have been added for key SEC matchups, including service between Tampa, Florida, and Austin, Texas, on November 7 and November 10, 2025. Additionally, the airline is responding to customer demand by adding more flights for other significant football games, including:

  • Dallas to Lubbock, Texas (November 9)
  • Omaha, Nebraska to Los Angeles (LAX) (November 16)
  • Columbus, Ohio to Chicago (Midway) (November 16)
  • Cleveland to New Orleans (November 17)

In preparation for one of the world’s largest rodeos, held annually in Las Vegas, Southwest is adding seven additional flights between December 5 and December 15, 2025, to accommodate rodeo fans attending the event.

Southwest Airlines is also enhancing its overnight flying options. Beginning March 6, 2025, travelers can take advantage of redeye flights departing from Denver, San Diego, and Sacramento, in addition to previously announced service from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. These flights, along with the carrier’s full schedule through April 7, 2025, are now available for booking at Southwest.com.
