This company offers space travel for people from Saudi Arabia using a balloon

Halo Space, a Spanish company, is changing the game in space tourism by planning to offer 100 balloon-powered flights each year from Saudi Arabia starting in 2026.
This exciting project aims to make Saudi Arabia a top destination for space tourism, setting it apart from neighboring countries that mainly focus on government space missions and satellite work.
The company has already completed five successful test flights in India and California, and the next test will take place in Saudi Arabia’s remote desert.
The test, set for September 27-30, will make use of the country’s clear skies, high visibility, and vast airspace—perfect conditions for this groundbreaking flight.
A Unique Near-Space Experience
On Halo Space’s flights, passengers will soar to an altitude of 35 kilometers, where they’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Earth’s curvature against the backdrop of space.
While this experience doesn’t include weightlessness like traditional spaceflights, it still offers an unforgettable adventure. Tickets are priced at €150,000 (around $167,000), slightly higher than Space Perspective’s $125,000 for a similar experience.
Supportive Business Environment in Saudi Arabia
Carlos Mira, CEO of Halo Space, has praised Saudi Arabia for its business-friendly environment, which has been key to setting up operations there.
The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and the company is already seeing a growing waiting list of customers eager to secure their spot.
Halo Space has sold 11 tickets through its Pioneers program, which allows early customers to be among the first to fly and provide feedback.
Expanding to Global Locations
In addition to Saudi Arabia, Halo Space plans to offer flights from the US, Spain, and Australia, providing passengers with a luxurious journey that includes fine dining and premium seating. While both Halo Space and Space Perspective target the luxury space tourism market, their operations differ.
Halo Space will launch and land directly on the ground, while Space Perspective will launch its capsule from a ship and splash down in the ocean.
A Bright Future for Space Tourism
Halo Space is working to complete its test flight program and aims to offer near-space travel to thousands of passengers by 2030.
With this ambitious plan, Halo Space is poised to make a significant impact on the growing space tourism industry, providing an exciting new way to experience the wonders of space.
