Trump Furious Over Air Force One Delays, Confronts Boeing CEO

Former President Donald Trump was reportedly frustrated upon learning that the long-awaited updates to Air Force One may not be ready until 2029 or later.

Initially, the two new planes were expected to be delivered by 2026 and 2027, but Boeing has now acknowledged delays in the project timeline. This news has prompted strong reactions from Trump, who is said to have personally confronted Boeing’s CEO over the issue.

During his first term, President Trump ordered a series of upgrades to the iconic Air Force One aircraft. These upgrades are designed to enhance the jets with new meeting rooms, bedrooms, military avionics, and self-defense systems, turning the planes into a true “extension of the Oval Office.”

However, despite the importance of the project, it now looks like the jets might not be ready for another five years or more. According to sources familiar with the situation, Boeing has stated that it is committed to delivering two “exceptional” Air Force One planes, but acknowledged that the new jets may not be ready until 2029 or later.

This delay has frustrated Trump, who reportedly called Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg last month to demand answers about the delays. Trump is said to have also pushed his own staff for updates, though Boeing has remained tight-lipped about the specific timeline.

The planes are currently undergoing extensive modifications, with the latest updates including specialized rooms for meetings and rest, as well as state-of-the-art military equipment to ensure the aircraft’s safety and functionality.

An Air Force representative mentioned that the project’s schedule is expected to be reviewed and updated in the spring, but it remains unclear if the delays will be resolved by then.
