Woman Alleges Her Mother’s Bag Was Stolen on IndiGo Flight

A Mumbai woman, Trisha Shetty, the founder of SheSays, has accused IndiGo of mishandling a serious incident during a recent flight.

She claims that her mother was “robbed” while traveling on flight 6E 17 and that the airline staff did not cooperate when the situation was reported. In a post on X, Shetty explained that her mother’s handbag was placed in the overhead compartment by the flight crew.

While her mother was asleep, a passenger allegedly took her bag. Shetty stated that her mother only realized the theft when she woke up and saw the passenger trying to put the bag back. Shetty further claimed that when her mother sought help from the crew, they refused to assist in filing a complaint and made excuses for the passenger.

Shetty added that the situation was only resolved when fellow passengers intervened and supported her mother, ensuring she got her bag back. She also mentioned that other passengers had complained about the same individual allegedly going through their belongings. Shetty was critical of the airline’s response, stating that the crew “handled the situation terribly.”

In response to the viral post, IndiGo reached out to Shetty and requested her contact details through direct messages for further assistance. The airline assured her that the crew had promptly addressed the situation, asking her mother to verify the contents of her bag to ensure nothing was missing.

This incident has raised concerns about the safety and handling of passengers’ belongings during flights, with Shetty expressing deep frustration over the lack of support from the airline’s crew in resolving the issue.
