Boeing Resumes Widebody Jet Deliveries to China: Report

Boeing predicts that Southeast Asia will require 234,000 new pilots &4,720 new planes by 2043

Boeing has resumed its widebody jet deliveries to China following a temporary halt due to regulatory reviews, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Deliveries of widebody planes commence soon

Orders for widebody 777 and 787 planes are expected to be fulfilled in the coming days, with deliveries of Boeing’s 737 MAX aircraft set to resume as early as next month.

Boeing received a significant boost with the recent development, following a temporary halt in its plane deliveries to China, originally reported by Reuters in May.

Clearance for 737 MAX deliveries anticipated in weeks

The delay stemmed from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) conducting a review of batteries within the 25-hour cockpit voice recorder. Bloomberg anticipates that clearance to resume 737 MAX aircraft deliveries could come within weeks.

This news comes as a relief to Boeing, easing financial pressures exacerbated by reduced aircraft production at its facilities. As of January 2024, ch-aviation.com reported that 206 737 MAX jets were awaiting delivery to Chinese carriers.

Preparations were made on Wednesday at Boeing’s massive facility north of Seattle for an Air China Ltd. 777 freighter to take off on a customer check flight, which would normally occur before delivery.
