British Airways plane’s windshield ‘cracks’ in the mid-air, returns to Gatwick
A British Airways flight was forced to make a U-turn after the crew discovered a “technical issue” with a cracked windscreen. On August 21, at 10.40 a.m., flight BA2037 was supposed to leave London Gatwick; however, it took off a bit later than anticipated at 11.08.
The Boeing 777, which was apparently travelling to Orlando in Florida, was in the air between Ireland and Iceland when the issue was discovered.

Due to this, the captain had to make a U-turn and head back to London, where vehicles met the aircraft on the runway and guided it to the gate.
Due to a minor technical issue, “our pilots returned to London Gatwick as a precaution, and the aircraft landed normally. Customers have been apologized to for the disruption to their travel plans, and our employees are working hard to get them on their way as soon as possible, according to a statement from British Airways. It has not yet been confirmed what caused the cracked windscreen.
