Cathay Pacific flight delay after woman boards flight without pass

Following the discovery that a woman had boarded flight CX521 from Tokyo’s Narita International Airport to Hong Kong without the proper documentation, Cathay Pacific Airways apologised.

The event happened on December 28 in the afternoon. Before takeoff, the woman reportedly changed seats several times in the cabin and neglected to show the cabin crew her boarding pass and passport. Eventually, Japanese officials took her away.

There was a 1.5-hour delay as a result of everyone having to disembark with their carry-on bags for a cabin security check as a precaution. In response to queries from the media on December 29, Cathay Pacific confirmed the incident and apologized for the inconvenience and delay.

As per the press reports, the incident happened to a female traveller who persistently attempted to switch seats but was unable to present her passport or boarding pass. She had her hair covering her face, and it was reported that she was holding a white plastic bag.
