Embraer and CAE Launch First E-Jets E2 Full Flight Simulator in Singapore

The first E-Jets E2 full flight simulator (FFS) for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region was formally opened today in Singapore by Embraer and CAE. The most recent course provided by the recently expanded joint venture Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS) is E-Jets E2.

The E2 training programme will include immersive practical training in a brand-new, cutting-edge CAE 7000XR Series FFS, interactive classroom instruction using the CAE Simfinity virtual simulator (VSIM), and competency-based training assessment (CBTA) courseware from CAE. The FFS will assist E2 operators in the area and is located at the Singapore-CAE Flight Training Centre close to Changi Airport.

Pilots from Singapore Airlines’ subsidiary, Scoot, have already begun their training in preparation of the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft’s entry into service with the airline later this year. Scoot pilots will experience all aspects of flight in CAE’s latest generation FFS and practice multiple scenarios to enhance their skills and preparedness ahead of the aircraft’s first revenue flights.

The E2 full flight simulator is enhanced by interactive touch screen training in the classroom, which speeds up learning. Standard commercial pilot training is greatly improved by the VSIM, a potent familiarisation and practice tool that gives access to all of the aircraft’s systems. Pilots can use the VSIM for individualised training and familiarisation, and instructors can use it as a classroom and briefing tool to simulate a variety of system functions.
