Emirates and ITA Airways Ink MoU, Strengthen Codeshare agreement

Emirates and ITA Airways Ink MoU, Strengthen Codeshare agreement

An agreement has been signed by Emirates and ITA Airways to develop their current interline into a full codeshare cooperation.

The codeshare will improve travel and connectivity alternatives for clients flying between Dubai and Italy and other destinations once it is implemented. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed today will lay the groundwork for strengthening the partnership between the two airlines by enabling easier and faster travel from Dubai to the Emirates network.

With the best routes, schedules, and connections, as well as one-stop connections to popular cities across Italy and wider Europe via ita airways.

Through the proposed codeshare, passengers of Emirates will be able to easily fly from the airline’s Rome gateway to a number of domestic Italian cities, including well-known tourist spots like Florence, Genoa, Palermo, and Trieste, among others. Additionally, users will have access to important cities in Europe like Sofia, Tirana, and other places.

By using the airline’s Rome services to connect from Dubai to the Emirates route network, ITA Airways clients will have access to far more options. Together with smooth luggage transfers, integrated ticketing will soon be available thanks to the connectivity between ITA Airways and Emirates. Additionally, the proposed deal will facilitate travel to Italian destinations from anywhere in the emirates network, including Australia, the Far East, the Middle East/GCC, and West Asia.

The Memorandum of Understanding also aims to create the future extension of reciprocal loyalty benefits on both airlines’ frequent flyer programmes. The codeshare flights will gradually become accessible to customers on internet and travel agency platforms after the required government and regulatory licences are secured.

Since 1992, Emirates has provided services to Italy. With a combination of Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s, the airline presently runs 41 weekly flights between Dubai and its four Italian gateways, Rome, Milan, Venice, and Bologna.
