HKIAA Launches its First Cadet Pilot Programme

The Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) inaugurated its first Cadet Pilot Programme,  providing opportunities to aspiring talent with the ambition to become an airline pilot. The HKIAA’s six-month theoretical knowledge instruction course and IASCO Flight Training School’s eight-month flying training are both parts of the 14-month Cadet Pilot Programme.

After completing their flying training, students can take a multi-crew cooperation course in Hong Kong offered by Hong Kong Airlines, one of the HKIAA’s partner airlines, to earn a commercial pilot licence from the Civil Aviation Department. Students can apply for preliminary job applications with Hong Kong Airlines, HK Express, and Greater Bay Airlines, after which they might receive conditional job offers from these collaborating airlines.

“We are excited to launch our first Cadet Pilot Programme, which focuses on nurturing high-quality airline pilots for Hong Kong and fulfilling the youth’s dream of flying,” said Simon Li, president of the HKIAA. But for us, this is only our premiere. In the upcoming years, I hope that we can work with regional universities and business partners to set up degree programmes in aviation that combine flying instruction with bachelor’s or master’s degrees, allowing young people to participate in the Cadet Pilot Programme while pursuing their academic goals.

Enrolment for the HKIAA Cadet Pilot Programme is now open. Interested parties can apply through HKIAA’s website http://www.hkiaAcademy.com for more information.
