Qatar Airways Bans YouTuber After Posting a Negative Review

Qatar Airways Partner with China Southern Airlines Unveils New Route to Doha

A well-known YouTuber is alleged to have been banned by Qatar Airways for posting a critical review of the Doha-based airline on social media and refusing to take it down after receiving a complimentary return ticket to any location in the world.

Popular YouTuber Josh Cahill, who reviews flights, released a 20-minute video on Saturday in which he claimed that Qatar Airways had “banned and bribed” him. This came after he released a video review in August 2023 about an economy class trip he took from Colombo to Doha, titled “the shocking decline of Qatar Airways.”

The two Economy Class flights Cahill took were plagued by a number of complaints, including outdated aircraft, unclean restrooms, and uninterested flight attendants who failed to greet or smile at him when he boarded.

However, the YouTuber also complimented Qatar Airlines on offering a “world-class” seat on its Boeing 777 aircraft, inexpensive and speedy in-flight Wi-Fi, and a specific cabin crew member who delivered excellent service.

However, Cahill got a call from the airline’s corporate communications department a few days after he uploaded the video. Senior managers requested that the talk remain confidential, but Cahill resisted and has since shared what he said in the latest video, which you can view below.

According to reports, the crew member told Cahill that she was afraid of losing her job if she didn’t send the email.

YouTube agreed to blur the faces of any airline employees who appeared in the video in response to the privacy complaint, but Cahill refused to have the video taken down.
