Ryanair’s New Fee Policy Sparks Outrage Among Travelers

Ryanair vs. Travel Agents: Airlines Reduce Fares and Promote Direct Bookings

Ryanair has encountered the latest controversy. To obtain their digital boarding pass, passengers must now pay an additional fee, even if they choose a random seat.

Travelers are irritated with Ryanair because it has implemented an obligatory fee for adding a random seat to obtain a digital boarding pass. Ryanair was previously known for its extra fees, especially for baggage. As stated, the cost of this new measure could reach 24.50 euros.

Vivien Lovrin made a reservation for a flight from London to Germany last Thursday. Instead chose not to pay an additional fee to secure a seat, so simply checked in using a randomly assigned spot.

But the Ryanair app informed her, “Check-in done!” after she had finished entering her information. Get your boarding pass now and add a seat to avoid standing in queue at the airport.

Many tourists have voiced their displeasure with this policy on social media, calling it an unnecessary expense and time waster and drawing attention to its detrimental effects on the environment. One comment stated, “It’s great for the environment and gives travelers another reason to pay more for their tickets. A new low for Ryanair. Very embarrassing.”

Ryanair, in contrast to the many complaints on social media, has not addressed these claims, saying that customers can still choose to pay for a reservation or accept a random seat assignment at no additional cost.
