Maleth Aero Flight 1975 was scheduled to arrive in Manchester just before 6am on December 24, having taken off from Barbados one hour later than scheduled. The eleven passengers were transported to a hospital. During its cruise at 38,000 feet, the Airbus aircraft encountered significant “clear-air turbulence.”

After six hours on Christmas Eve, the plane touched down at Bermuda’s LF Wade International Airport, five hours away from its original destination. “We are aware of the situation and are diligently working to ensure the well-being of all involved. We are extremely grateful for the quick response of all our emergency services personnel who ensured the safety of the passengers and crew,” said Owen Darrell, Bermuda’s acting minister of national security, after the plane’s landing.
