Virgin Atlantic's India Expansion: Bengaluru Added, Mumbai Doubled
Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic began offering flights to Bengaluru, the Indian startup capital, this week. Bengaluru is a popular destination for US travelers connecting at London Heathrow from San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York JFK, Seattle, and other US cities.

The route offers the best connections for business travelers or those looking to experience a lively city stay in India’s third most populated city, with average connecting times of one to two hours.

The airline is also happy to announce the establishment of a second daily service to Mumbai, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to the area. The new trip, which joins the airline’s double daily flights to Delhi and daily flights to Bengaluru, is the fifth daily service to India.

Virgin Atlantic will begin offering more than a million seats to India in 2025, a 350% increase in capacity from 2019. This will solidify India’s standing as a crucial strategic market for the airline and represent its greatest expansion outside of the US. In addition to giving customers more alternatives, the airline will be able to handle an extra 25,000 tons of cargo from the tech, fashion, and pharmaceutical industries as a result to the increased flights to Mumbai.

The airline’s cutting-edge Airbus A350-1000, which will be used for the second daily Mumbai route, will go into service on October 27, 2024, and go on sale on April 6, 2024. It will have Upper Class, Premium and Economy Delight, Classic, and Light cabins, along with the airline’s renowned Upper Class social space.
