Cebu Pacific Secures Massive Airbus Deal: 70 A321neo Aircraft Ordered

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ largest low-cost airline, has solidified its commitment to expanding its fleet by placing a firm order for 70 Airbus A321neo aircraft. This deal finalizes a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) announced in July, marking a significant step in the airline’s growth strategy.

The agreement was officially signed in Manila by Cebu Pacific CEO Mike Szucs and Airbus EVP Sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry. Cebu Pacific currently operates 61 A320 Family aircraft across its extensive regional network and flies nine A330 widebodies on high-density routes, including destinations in the Middle East.

Mike Szucs said: “The selection of Airbus A321neo underscores our focus on operational efficiency, sustainability, and innovation, ensuring that we continue to deliver the highest standards of service while significantly reducing our carbon footprint. This milestone signals our ongoing dedication to expanding air travel accessibility and affordability, while supporting the Philippine’s broader economic growth and connectivity goals.”

With this new order, Cebu Pacific’s backlog with Airbus now stands at 94 A320neo Family aircraft and seven A330neo. The A321neo, the largest member of the A320neo Family, offers enhanced performance, with over 20% fuel savings and CO₂ reduction, along with a 50% reduction in noise.

Its advanced design maximizes passenger comfort while providing superior range and efficiency, making it a key choice for airlines around the world. To date, over 6,500 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by more than 90 airlines globally, reinforcing the A321neo’s position as a leader in the single-aisle market.
