Changi Airport Now Offers Complete Passport-less Clearance System
Singapore has introduced a passport-less immigration clearance system across all four terminals at Changi Airport, enhancing the travel experience for residents and visitors alike.
This cutting-edge initiative allows eligible travelers to clear immigration using facial and iris biometrics, streamlining the process significantly.
The introduction of biometric clearance significantly reduces the average immigration clearance time from 25 seconds to just 10 seconds, enhancing travel efficiency. Since the launch, close to 1.5 million travelers have utilized this system, highlighting its popularity and effectiveness. The initiative not only streamlines the travel experience but also maintains high security standards.
Requirements:
While Singapore residents can enjoy passport-less clearance when departing, they still need to present their passports upon arrival. It’s essential for all travelers to carry their passports, as they may be required for immigration clearance at their destination countries. Additionally, travelers must submit their Singapore Arrival Card within three days prior to their arrival.
International Travelers:
For foreign visitors, the passport-less system allows for quicker departures from Singapore, but they must present their passports when arriving in the country. Those with special needs, such as families with young children using Special Assistance Lanes, will still need to show their passports for immigration clearance.
