The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) has announced today that Aer Lingus, Air New Zealand, Ethiopian Airlines, and Saudia have joined the TSA PreCheck® program. Currently, around 100 airlines take part in the initiative.

Through the expedited screening program known as TSA PreCheck, low-risk travelers can experience a secure and quick screening process at over 200 U.S. state and territory airports as well as one foreign preclearance airport, Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas.

Passengers using TSA PreCheck travel in comfort and are exempt from having to take out their laptops, 3-1-1 liquids, and food items from their carry-on luggage. They may also keep their shoes, belts, and lightweight jackets on. At airport checkpoints, 99% of TSA PreCheck users wait less than 10 minutes in designated lines.

For qualified travelers, TSA PreCheck is available when they are leaving from an airport that participates or when they are connecting domestically after arriving back in the United States from an international airport. Applying for TSA PreCheck is free for visitors who are citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents of the United States.

They can select any enrollment provider depending on price, proximity, and other perks. Enrollment fees differ between providers. After being accepted, travelers are issued a special Known Traveler Number (KTN), which they can use to access TSA PreCheck lanes when linked to an airline reservation. A KTN is typically sent to new enrollees in three to five days.

When traveling on the same reservation and when the TSA PreCheck indicator displays on their boarding pass, teens between the ages of 13 and 17 may now accompany their parents or guardians who have enrolled in TSA PreCheck through TSA PreCheck screening. Youngsters 12 and under are free to use the TSA PreCheck lanes with an enrolled parent or guardian.

Before entering a TSA checkpoint, enrolled airline passengers must have the TSA PreCheck indicator (such as TSA PRECHK orTSA Pre✓®) on their boarding pass to verify they are qualified for TSA PreCheck screening.
