Russian Airlines Are Warned Against Flying State-Owned Aircraft Abroad
Russian airlines have been warned by the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) about the possibility of some of their leased aircraft being seized abroad.
The aircraft at risk are those that the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) has leased to sanctioned foreign subsidiaries. Flights to Turkey and Belarus are unaffected.

The decision was made due to the possibility of planes belonging to State Transport Leasing Company’s foreign subsidiaries being seized while they are Airlines going through bankruptcy, according to the agency’s interlocutor. He claims that the advice is effective starting today “until a special decision” is made by the Federal Air Transport Agency.
Interfax made queries to the State Transport Leasing Company, the Ministry of Transportation, Aeroflot, Rossiya, and S7, which lease aircraft from the State Transport Leasing Company group for their fleets.
It was announced earlier this year that the Irish High Court had decided to liquidate GTLK’s SPV entities, GTLK Europe Capital DAC and GTLK Europe Designated Activity Company.
