Turkish Airlines Recognized with Guinness World Record for Most Countries Flown

Turkish Airlines has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records™ for achieving the title of the “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline.” The national flag carrier, which has held this distinction since 2012, was honored for its extensive global reach.

The award ceremony took place at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, marking Turkish Airlines’ inaugural flight to Chile. Executives from Turkish Airlines and officials from Guinness World Records™ were present to celebrate this milestone achievement.

Under Guinness World Records™ criteria, Turkish Airlines secured the title with flights to 120 countries over the past year, based solely on active routes.

However, with the addition of temporarily suspended destinations and the new route to Chile, its network now extends to 131 countries, reinforcing its unmatched global connectivity.

Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi expressed his pride, saying, “We are delighted to be in Santiago, Chile, launching our newest route, and to receive the Guinness World Records™ title for the Most Countries Flown to by an Airline.

This achievement showcases the strength of our network and highlights our commitment to connecting people, cultures, and destinations worldwide.”

Talal Omar, Vice President for MENA & Türkiye at Guinness World Records™, commended Turkish Airlines, stating, “Today, we celebrate a significant milestone for Turkish Airlines, whose dedication to connecting the world exemplifies aviation excellence.

This remarkable achievement solidifies its vital role in the global aviation industry, reaching more international destinations than any other airline. We congratulate Turkish Airlines and officially declare them, with great distinction, ‘Officially Amazing™.’”
