Parents Leaves Infant Alone at Check-In Desk To Avoid Paying For Extra ticket

Parents Leaves Infant Alone at Check-In Desk To Avoid Paying For Extra ticket

A couple traveling with Belgian passports encountered an unusual scenario at Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv as they tried to board a Ryanair flight to Brussels.

The couple made the shocking choice to leave their kid at the airport check-in desk after failing to buy a ticket for their child. The couple was detained by local officials after trying to board the flight without their baby’s ticket, as reported by the Jerusalem Post. Ryanair verified that the pair had not reserved the child’s ticket in advance.

Staff at the airport were taken aback upon seeing the abandoned kid in a stroller near the check-in counter, as the parents went to passport control. “We’ve never seen anything like this,” an employee said, expressing shock. What we were witnessing astounded us.

The pair arrived at Terminal 1 after the check-in counter had closed, as disclosed by the Israel Airports Authority. They left their infant alone in the check-in area, eager to get through airport security.

Further complicating matters was the revelation by airport authorities that the couple had arrived late for their travel. Security staff at the airport had to step in because of the couple’s hurry to get through security and their seeming disregard for the safety of their child. The check-in agent promptly alerted airport security, leading to the involvement of local police.
