Pakistan airline crew member flies to Canada without passport, Faces Fine

A recent incident involving a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) air hostess has drawn attention after she flew to Canada without her passport, resulting in a fine imposed by Canadian authorities.

The episode unfolded during flight PK-781 from Islamabad to Toronto on March 15, when the air hostess unintentionally forgot to bring her passport along. Consequently, she had to board the plane using only general declaration documents.

Upon arrival in Canada, it was discovered that the air hostess had flown without her passport, leading Canadian authorities to levy a $200 fine on her. PIA confirmed the incident, acknowledging the imposition of the fine on the cabin crew member who had flown without proper documentation.

The airline’s spokesperson, while maintaining anonymity, explained that the air hostess had inadvertently left her passport at Karachi airport. This incident is not an isolated one, as over the past two years, more than 10 PIA air hostesses have reportedly gone missing in Canada.

These occurrences have raised concerns regarding the welfare and safety of airline staff on international routes. Just earlier this month, on March 1, another PIA cabin crew member was reported missing in Canada, further highlighting the challenges faced by airline personnel operating on international flights. Despite confirming that they won’t be rehiring the missing air hostess and crew.
