Qatar Airways expands its network for the First Time in Lyon, France

Qatar Airways has landed its first flight to Lyon, France, with the new direct service flown by a Boeing 787-8, with four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This new route enhances Qatar Airways’ presence in France while also expanding the airline’s global network of over 160 destinations.
Both Business Class and Economy Class welcomed guests with traditional French fare and a meticulously designed menu of fine French cuisine to honor the voyage. Along with Qatar Airways Vice President of Sales, Europe, Mr. Eric Odone, M. Pierre Grosmaire, the airport’s Director of Commercial and Marketing, greeted the first flight from Doha.
In addition to continuing its service to Paris and Nice, Qatar Airways has added Lyon to its list of destinations in France. Lyon is home to a staggering number of restaurants with Michelin stars, earning it the title of France’s culinary capital. Due to its history as the cradle of cinema, the lovely city also appeals to those who enjoy watching movies. Visitors are welcome to participate in film festivals honouring the silver screen and exceptional dining options in a city that is also designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A Boeing 787-8 with 232 seats in economy class and 22 in business class will operate the new direct service to Lyon. Additionally, the city is a great starting point for exploring the surrounding Alpine mountain range.
